Imaging Assessment of Cervical Spine Trauma in Adults

Paula Richards and Surabhi Choudhary on behalf of Health Education... This session discusses cervical spine imaging and the assessment of craniocervical and cervical vertebral alignment. Common injury patterns resulting in cervical spine (C-spine) injury are also described in this session.

Clinical Findings Associated with Spinal Cord Compression

Imtiaz Shah on behalf of Health Education England This session discusses the clinical findings associated with spinal cord compression.

Paediatric - Musculoskeletal Problems

Amy Rowan on behalf of Health Education England In this session we describe how to approach the clinical assessment of a child who is limping, or has limb pains. We outline important causes of limp and limb pain, including growing pains and inflammatory conditions..

Acute Osteomyelitis - Radiology

Himanshu Patel and Stephen Davies on behalf of Health Education... This session covers the role of radiology in the diagnosis and management of acute osteomyelitis

Shoulder Impingement

Andrew Redfern and Alun Davies on behalf of Health Education England This session discusses the imaging of rotator cuff pathology

Fractures and Pathology

This session discusses terminology in relation to image interpretation of skeletal radiographs. This will enable the learner to describe fractures, dislocations, pathology and normal variants.

Fractures of Metacarpals and Phalanges

This session provides classification of metacarpal and phalangeal fractures, mechanisms of injury, and potential complications. It emphasises the information required from the radiologist in the management of these fractures.

Fractures: Complications of Fractures

This session will review the complications that may occur after a fracture. The clinical presentation will be discussed and the appropriate management.

Fractures: Managing Fractures

This session discusses the initial management of fractures and considers the planning of definitive treatment. We consider the fracture pattern as well as the biomechanical and patient factors which influence these decisions.

Skeletal Dysplasias

This session provides an overview of the radiological diagnosis of skeletal dysplasias, concentrating on the following conditions - achondroplasia, thanatophoric dysplasia, mucopolysaccharidoses, multiple epiphyseal dysplasia, hereditary multiple exostoses and multiple enchondromatosis.

Image Interpretation - Adult Skeleton (X-ray) Facial Bones - Session 2

This session will describe common fractures, dislocations, pathologies and normal variants found in the facial bones. These will be illustrated using radiographic examples.

Image Interpretation - Adult Skeleton (X-ray): Foot - Session 3

A self-evaluation quiz based on Image Interpretation - Adult Skeleton (X-ray): Foot - Sessions 1 and 2.

Image Interpretation - Adult Skeleton (X-ray): Knee - Session 3

By the end of this session you will be able to: Assess your understanding of anatomy, clinical presentations, mechanisms of injury, radiographic technique, fractures, dislocations, pathology and normal variants

Image Interpretation - Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Wrist and Hand Session 3

A self-evaluation session based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the wrist and hand. It contains questions on anatomy and pathology, MRI techniques used and interpretation of MRI images of the wrist and hand.

Image Interpretation - Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Wrist and Hand - Session 2

This session addresses the clinical and imaging evaluation of the wrist and hand, with particular reference to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) appearances.

Image Interpretation - Adult Skeleton (X-ray): Pelvis - Session 2

A self-assessment exercise based on Image Interpretation - Adult Skeleton (X-ray): Pelvis - Session 1.

Image Interpretation - Adult Skeleton (X-ray): Self-evaluation - The Axial and Appendicular Skeleton

A self-evaluation session designed to support you in assessing your image interpretation skills and report writing style. All radiographs in this session relate to the appendicular and axial skeletons

Image Interpretation - CT Anatomy: Cervical Spine

This session will look at the anatomy of the cervical spine on computed tomography (CT) images. It will cover both bony structures on a series of axial, sagittal and coronal images.

Post-operative Electrolyte Management

This session outlines homeostatic mechanisms for sodium, potassium and calcium. It then describes common presentations when these ions are depleted or in excess. Advice on the initial medical management for these conditions is then provided.

Image Interpretation - Adult Skeleton (X-ray): Thoracic Spine - Session 1

This session will look at injuries related to the thoracic spine. It will focus on identifying anatomy demonstrated on both diagrams and radiographs, and offer examples of radiographic technique. Mechanisms of injury (MOI) will be discussed to develop a knowledge base in clinical presentations. Common fractures, dislocations, pathologies and normal variants found in the thoracic spine will be illustrated using radiographic examples.
